About
Located in Stanley Village Shopping Center, Notchtop Bakery & Cafe has been serving made-from-scratch meals since 1993. The name comes from Notchtop Mountain, which rises to 12,129 feet inside Rocky Mountain National Park. Under owner Nailya Khametvalieva, the kitchen has stayed committed to fresh, local ingredients: no high-fructose corn syrup, no shortcuts. Cane sugar, pure vanilla, and non-GMO flours go into the daily baked goods. Turkey, pork, beef, and chicken are slow-roasted in-house, and the sausage and burgers are handmade on-site. The menu covers vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options too.
Vibe
The interior leans cabin-warm: wood tones, simple furniture, and an open ceiling with contemporary lighting. The main room works well for families and groups; the small bar suits a couple. A newly remodeled patio adds al fresco dining with Rocky Mountain views. It's the kind of place that gets you ready for a day on the trails or helps you wind down after one.
Menu & Drinks
Breakfast is the main event. The Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, battered, fried golden, smothered in country gravy or pork green chili, with two eggs and a potato, is a standout. Beyond that: trout steak, omelets, burritos, pancakes, hashes, waffles, French toast, and more. Lunch brings specialty sandwiches, Angus burgers, wraps, salads, and protein bowls. The Day After Thanksgiving Sandwich (oven-roasted turkey, cream cheese, cranberry-wine sauce on a gourmet bun) is worth ordering. The Home-style Burgers use a half-pound of handmade Black Angus beef on brioche, including an elk burger. Drinks run from freshly ground coffee to mimosas, Bloody Marys, margaritas, sangria, beer, and wine.
